About the work
Blooming in the Light observes a sunflower rising into strong backlight. The petals become partially transparent, carrying the brightness of the scene without losing their form. Light gathers around the flower and records the shimmer of the summer air, while the quieter areas of the frame keep the composition balanced. The photograph is less about the sunflower as a symbol than about the way its colour, surface, and outline change under direct light. The resulting image holds warmth and clarity while retaining the stillness found throughout this collection.
