Flow of Time I is the first work in a triptych photographed from different viewpoints around the roots of a single dead tree. Here, layers of lines cut into the wood resemble a rising landscape. The traces left by a long life appear from the darkness as a repeated, wave-like rhythm, shifting the subject between root, terrain, and abstract form. Close attention reveals small changes in texture and depth rather than a single focal point. As part of the three-work series, this image establishes a way of reading time through surfaces that remain after growth has ended.
